Cute Bowed Head Band

Needles: 4 or 5mm straight needles.

Wool: Chunky – any colour

Abbreviations: k = knit. p = purl. CO = cast on. C4F = cable (place next 4 stitches onto cable needle and hold in front, then knit next 4 before knitting the 4 stitches on the cable needle) ** = repeat pattern between

Pattern:

CO 70 stitches (this fits a 22inch head)

Row 1-4: *k1, p1*

Row 5: Knit all

Row 6: Purl all.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 working in stockinette stitch until the desired width is achieved (about 2 inches).

Row 7 (or when finished stockinette) -10: *k1, p1*

Bind off purlwise.

Sew ends together to form band.

CO 10 stiches.

Work in stockinette (knit one row, purl next) until piece measures about 4 cm – finish on a purl row.

Cable: k1, C4F, k1

Then revert back to stockinette until the entire piece measures about 10cm – bind off.

Then simply affix the bow wherever on the band you’d like :).
